DIY invitation cards

March is always our first birthday of the year. Tilda’s birthday. As a little Frida Kahlo fan, Tilda has chosen the theme “Flowerpower” this year.

You could of course adapt the cards to your party theme.

For this you need:

  • A photo of you that gives an indication of your party theme (13 x 18)
  • Colored cardboard box
  • Confetti & jelly babies
  • Transparent bags
  • Pens, scissors, cutter knife, glue
  • Balloons

And this is how it works:

Step 1: Take a few portrait photos of your kids. If you have a theme party, you can let off steam creatively when taking the photos.

Step 2: I decided to print the photo in black and white. This creates a greater contrast to the colorful cardboard box.

Step 3: I placed the photo on the cardboard, outlined it and cut the cardboard accordingly.

Step 4: I cut away the background from the photo so that only Tilda remained. I then glued them onto colorful cardboard.

Step 5: Cut a small slit at the height of Tilda’s mouth with the cutter knife. The balloon is inserted through the slit so that it looks as if Tilda is blowing up the balloon.

Step 6: Write your invitation text on the back.

Step 7: Then put the invitation in the transparent bag and add some confetti and a few gummy bears.

Step 8: Your extraordinary invitations are ready!
